• 3x5 Index Cards - You must be logged in to our website in order to print custom Tags. If you are logged in, click Index Card here or on the menu to the left to create your own tags. Your consignor number and barcodes will be printed automatically on each card. You have the option to print single 3x5 cards or a page of 6 3x5 cards. You can customize each card by item or print a number of cards with certain price points on each so you can hand write the descriptions.
  • Wire Hangers - No rubber coated wire or plastic hangers. NO EXCEPTIONS. You can obtain hangers and pins by calling Jennifer at 932-2915.  She has children and adult size hangers. All profits from the sale of pins and hangers are given to charity!
  • 1" or Larger Safety Pins

We have a new tagging programa you can access right on this website. You must be logged in to use it. Once you're logged on, go to the "3x5 Index Card" page and read the instructions thoroughly. We highly recommend using the 6 per page option. You can print 6 tags on one 8.5x11 sheet of CARDSTOCK.

It is important that we maintain the quality standards that Reruns has worked so hard to gain. We want our shoppers to be pleased with the items we sell and, more importantly, we want our consignors to be pleased with how well their items sell!!

Clothes that are clean, pressed, smell fresh, have buttons and zippers closed, look better and generally sell better. Spending a little extra time getting your items ready will make a HUGE difference on your profits at the end of the sale. Starch, a little bleach, an iron, or a needle and thread work wonders!

The same applies to furniture, tools, housewares etc. Remove all dirt, grime and marks. Make sure all parts are included; place any small parts in zip-lock bags, then securely attach the bag to the main part.

Iron your clothes first!
Use one-inch or larger safety pins to pin the clothes onto hangers (no tiny gold or silver pins, and no straight pins). Clothing must be on wire hangers. See our page on How To Consign for more details on clothing guidelines.
  1. With the hanger hook pointing to the LEFT, and the front of the item facing you, place your tag on the right shoulder.
  2. As you pin the tag onto the item, catch both the front and back of the item's material. This prevents the item from slipping off the hanger, onto the floor.
  3. Pin sets (pants, skirt, or overall and top) securely together by hanging the top first, then turn the hanger over and pin the pants by the waist to the backside of the hanger, with the pin catching the hanger to support the pants.
  4. Pants or shorts alone should be pinned onto the hanger through the pocket area. Make sure the pin goes through the pants/shorts twice or it will slide down and hang wrong. Button all buttons, zip all zippers, snap all snaps.

Tags must be 3x5 in size. (You must use 3x5 index cards or cardstock. We will not accept any items with paper tags!) Use the custom tag program available on this website. You must be logged in first. Please note that the line shown 2 inches down from the top is our cutting line. Do not put any tape below this line!
Description: Use the middle lower portion of the card to give a short description of your item. For example, write 'Blue GAP Polo Shirt' or 'Liz Clairborne Kahki Capris'. Make sure the description is enough to help us locate your item if the tag is accidentally pulled off. The description is important! Please do not leave it blank and use words that describe the item!
Good Phrases To Use: "Washes Well!", "Only Worn Once," "Like New!" Noting the brand name is good. You can add these phrases AFTER you've written a description of the item. On large ticket items such as furniture & electronics you may want to list the retail price so buyers know what a good deal they are getting.
Phrases to AVOID: Negative use of words, such as "Never Worn."
Sizing: When you designate a size please make sure it is numeric (ex: 12 Womens, 7 Junior, 32 Men's, etc.; NOT small, medium, large). However, you may use small, medium, large & extra large when sizing men's shirts.
Pricing: See Pricing section below.
Barcod Area On Tag: Notice the area reserved for the barcode and do not write in this area, as it will be covered up. When you bring your properly hung and tagged items in, we will print a barcode for each item, reflecting your consignor number and the price you have designated. These bar codes are used to "ring up" the item when it is sold. You will then be asked to place the barcodes on the items. This gives you the opportunity to catch any bar coding errors.
Making Changes: Don't make any changes or corrections on the original tags once they are completed. This is for your own protection. Make a new tag if a change is necessary!
Pinning The Tag: Use one inch or larger safety pins to pin the tags on (no tiny gold or silver pins, and no straight pins), placing the pin horizontally and catching the garment and the card twice.
Non-Hanger Items/Grouping: Group small items together in a plastic zip-lock bag, with the card pinned on the outside of the bag. We also recommend sealing the top of the bag closed with clear mailing tape AFTER inspection. Pinning your tag through the mailing tape is also a secure place for your tag, as pins come off the plastic bags easily. Pin shoes together with a large pin or twist tie, then pin the tag to the connecting pin. Be sure to pin your tag to your shoes, not the shoe box. DO NOT place shoes in plastic bags; tags come off easily. Books and videos are NOT to be placed in plastic bags. If you group them in sets, tie them on all sides with string or yarn.

Think about the following when you are pricing:
  • It is reasonable to price items in good to excellent condition at 20% to 30% of retail sale price. The better the condition, the more popular or unique the item, the higher you can price.
  • All  items must be  priced in whole dollar increments ($3.00, $4.00, etc. NOT $3.50, $4.99, etc.)
  • Do not overprice. Better to mark it lower and get full price than to mark it higher and end up selling the item on half price day or not at all.
  • Remember that the general public can not try on clothing. They will not spend $20 on a clothing item they can't try on.
  • Tools, equipment, and furniture are priced pretty much the same way. The more common and easily purchased the item is the less the percentage of retail it will sell for.
  • Finally, if you are unsure of the value of certain items and want to do some research, use the internet and "shop" for those items.
  • Honestly ask yourself, "What would I pay for this?"
